Wondering why Gemma and I are snapping, sharing and all round gallivanting across Bondi beach?
Today is the fourth year of the national call of action that is RUOK day.
Recognizing that mental health needs to be destigmatised is the key. The best chance of meaningful and successful outcome in the prevention of suicide is early intervention
The focus this year is on reminding people that is is OK to say you aren’t.
Whatever the issue we need to give people the courage to stand up and tell their friends and family. It’s important that we give one another a safe environment in which to be open and honest.
It’s not necessarily about asking people at risk, RUOK day is more of a reminder to ask one another all the time.
Empowering people to stop, take time, pause and listen – THAT is what can change someone’s life.
