Nescafe Dolce Gusto provided this product for the purposes of review. Opinions all my own.
I’m not a morning person.
Everyone in my family knows it.
That’s why they are so gentle with me in the mornings.
If being gentle consisted of little people running into my room, destroying my things, all the while yelling: “Get UP!” and “TOAST!”.
Usually Pal gets up with the children in the morning, seeing as he starts work at sparrow’s fart. And seeing as my children think 5am is an acceptable time for awakening, he gives them their beloved toast, sets them up in front of abc kids and lets me know he is leaving.
But some mornings Pal starts work before sparrow’s fart. And on those mornings it is my job to feed the children. Who one would assume are trying to catch the worm, but instead have vegemite and/or peanut butter toast and a banana unceremoniously dumped on their plates and put in front of them.
With no more than a nod and a grunt.
One hopes that sometime in the near future the Two and Roo will learn to discern the subtle hits thrown their way that I do not appreciate anything before 7am.
Or possibly, they’ll continue this behaviour until they are old enough to leave home (that happens around age 7, right?)
Until then, I have my lover.
My best friend.
He asks nothing more than to have his water refilled and the push of a few buttons.
He requires no more than a quick rinse of his pod holder and drip tray.
He lets me turn him on, place my vessel underneath him, hit the hot button and walk away while he does the rest.
Returning for my own gratification when I am ready.
I can even choose whether he is hot or cold, and the depth I require.
He is, in fact, the perfect man.
My Nescafé Dolce Gusto, GENIO.
Yes, my friends, iced tea and coffee, as well as the hot, hot, caffienated frothy lusciousness my mornings require.
I was at first reluctant to use the milk pods – I mean, milk, in a capsule?
But oh, oh how yummy this coffee is. Oh how frothy. Oh how divine.
All of my concerns were soothed and forgotten.
Not to mention the savings in milk now I’m not frothing an entire cup each time I want a coffee.
Gene is a valued member of this family.
I’m never letting him leave home.
