Precious the Pram

I’ve been aware of the Triple ABC Adventure Buggy with Reclining Toddler Seat for some time.  Probably when I realized I was pregnant with twins and started searching for twin prams.  I trundled on over to the Australian Multiples Association Forum and saw a few of the lovely mums there having a chat about the wonders of this beast of a vehicle.

We never could afford a pram such as this.  Not new.  I trawled the Internet for second hand ones.  I told everyone I knew to keep their eye out.  But the timing was never right.  We never had the money when a suitable pram became available, or the pram would be too far away and cost too much in courier charges. Or, more often than not, a new appointment or hoop for Oscar’s congenital heart disease would arise, and any money saved towards the buggy would fly out the window, yet again.

Knowing that the ABC Buggy was a pipe dream for me, and knowing that I would indeed have many kinds of travel troubles with three children under 18 months, I decided that I would stick to a brand that I knew and loved – Phil & Teds.  Coincidentally, Phil and Ted Green (as in PHIL & TEDs) are also the founders and makers of the ABC Buggy.

The Red Phil & Ted Classic Twin was surely a wonderful pram.  But soon enough we outgrew it, and the need for a pram that would hold all three of my children safely, stably and comfortably began to weigh on my mind.  And rather than risk the dramas and stresses associated with taking all three children out, I became a hermit and did not go out at all.  Even on Pal’s days off I would prefer to send him off alone or with one of the children to get errands done, rather than pack all three kids into the car, get the pram in, get a sling organised and then unload it all at the other end. Especially when the main street of our town is a mere 15 minute walk away.  It would take us longer to load and unload our children and all their paraphernalia from the car than it would take me to walk.  Not cool.

My weight, rather than decreasing with the demands of three small children and breastfeeding twins, actually increased.  Soon enough I weighed the same weight I did at 34 weeks pregnant with the twins.  Not cool.

And so my lust for the Triple ABC Adventure Buggy with Reclining Toddler Seat was reawakened.

First here, during a bout of the Mother’s Day Blues.

Then again here, during a mishap regarding Facebook Etiquette.

And something amazing happened.  Someone else was interested.  Traci from Precious Hearts emailed Phil Green on my behalf, and I received some amazing news: Things I Know.

Since her arrival, Precious the Pram has been a very important member of our family.  You can read about her ongoing adventures by clicking here.

With Precious, I have freedom, I have activity.  With Precious I have sanity.

Off for another Precious Adventure

The biggest, most heartfelt thanks go to Traci and Precious Hearts – a non-for profit organisation that makes kids with Congenital Heart Disease (and their Mumma’s and Papa’s) smile.

I could probably get some speaker attachments for her, don’t you think? The only problem would be choosing her sound track!

My brother suggested I may like this website. He was once entirely right. This put up actually made my day. You can not imagine just how a lot time I had spent for this info! Thank you!
